I'm annoyed.

I found the del.icio.us(tm) site to be unhelpful and hard to navigate. Which is ironic, since the whole point seems to be build folksonomies, which are taxonomies for the lazy and stupid.

Do people really think that taxonomies and authority files are just arbitrary rules made up by people who have nothing better to do than make things more complicated? That taking the time to understand the hierarchy of information within a given subject or learning about a subject in depth is a waste of time?

I blame the computer science wonks, who somehow think that having access to information is the same as understanding it. So for all of them, a refresher lesson:

Data is not information, information is not knowledge, knowledge is not wisdom.
